Go Pet Friendly Bids Farewell: A Journey of Transformation and New Beginning
Go Pet Friendly Bids Farewell: A Journey of Transformation and New Beginnings
The Evolution of Pet Travel Sixteen years ago, GoPetFriendly was created with a simple mission: to make traveling with pets easier and more accessible. At the time, finding accommodations and activities that welcomed pets was a significant challenge. While some pet owners had long embraced travel with their furry companions, the majority saw it as inconvenient or even impractical.
Over time, however, the landscape of pet travel changed. Businesses recognized the value of catering to pet owners, leading to an increase in pet-friendly hotels, restaurants, and destinations. Cities began promoting their pet-friendly policies, and signage welcoming four-legged visitors became a common sight. GoPetFriendly played a role in this shift by providing a comprehensive directory of pet-friendly establishments, making it easier for pet lovers to plan their trips.
A Changing World and New Directions As the world embraced pet travel, GoPetFriendly also evolved. For twelve years, life on the road in an RV provided countless adventures, but eventually, settling down in Bisbee, Arizona, became the next chapter. With newfound time, personal growth took center stage, leading to the pursuit of an AutoCAD certification and studies in residential construction.
Technology also advanced rapidly, particularly with the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI-driven tools now provide instant travel recommendations, reducing the need for curated directories. As a result, traffic to GoPetFriendly declined, signaling that an easier way to plan pet-inclusive trips had arrived.
Recognizing this shift, GoPetFriendly has decided to discontinue its directory at the end of the month. While the directory served its purpose, the decision paves the way for new endeavors and opportunities.
Preserving the Legacy: The GoPetFriendly Blog Although the directory is closing, the GoPetFriendly blog will remain active. It holds cherished memories of pet travel experiences and continues to serve as a valuable resource for those seeking inspiration. The hands-on research shared over the years still provides meaningful insights that AI cannot replicate. Occasional new posts may also appear as interesting topics arise.
A New Adventure: Building a Dream Home Looking to the future, the next great adventure involves constructing a home on a mountaintop in southern Colorado. The dream of building in this remote location has now become a reality, with plans to break ground in May. The construction process, involving panelized home delivery and personal involvement in the build, will be documented and shared through a newly launched YouTube channel.
Join the Journey Longtime followers of GoPetFriendly have been an integral part of this journey, and the hope is that they will continue to be part of this next chapter. The YouTube channel will offer weekly updates on the home-building process, providing insights and inspiration along the way. While the first video may be a humble beginning, just like GoPetFriendly’s early blog posts, improvements will come with time and experience.
Though GoPetFriendly’s directory is coming to an end, its impact on pet-friendly travel will endure. The journey continues in new and exciting ways, and those who have been part of this adventure are warmly invited to follow along in the next chapter.
Thank you for being part of this incredible ride!
